Soft Feminine Modern

When it comes to furniture, we've only recently started to buy some nice investment pieces. We have plenty of bulky college furniture that is well past its prime and doesn't reflect our taste of clean, modern lines. The only pieces we have that really fall into that category are the new couch we bought in January, a nice bookshelf and a sweet end table that we found second hand (but is still amazing).

I think a safe place to start decorating is the dining room. We took our cheap, old dining table outside for a 4th of July picnic and it's never made it back in. A few rain storms and the summer heat have warped it enough that we've deemed it our permanent patio table. So we really have NO furniture for our dining room! While I love a modern look, I like to soften up my clean lines a bit with texture, lighting and wood accents. I've always wanted a big wooden table like the one below from Fashion for Home! Top it off with those chairs and some sweet cluster lighting and we're set!
